The Sushi Bar - One Of The Best And Affordable Japanese Restaurant
The Sushi Bar is a small Japanese restaurant located in the inconspicuous forth level of Far East Plaza, however the queue speaks a different story. Over at this restaurant they are well known for their premium quality ingredients served at an affordable price.
The fresh scallops on its own were amazing. It has a sweet and clean flavors of the ocean that comes with a smooth slippery texture. The lightly charred mentaiko sauce on top provides a salty and smoky savoriness that brings out the flavors of the scallops. Pairing it with the scallions gave a nice refreshing bite, while the tobiko gave an added briny element to the dish. A must try in my opinion if you are a fan of fresh scallops.
A totally different approach to this classic maki would be the Shiok Maki from Koh Grill & Sushi Bar. Imagine a handful of tobiko and special mayonnaise sauce generously doused on top of your maki. How shiok would that be?
Literally the ocean's bounty in a bowl! Thick slices of Salmon, Aburi salmon belly, Yellowtail, Swordfish, Tuna, Scallops, Uni, Sweet shrimp, Ikura and Tamago all beautifully presented on a bed of Japanese white rice and garnished with slices of cucumber, radish and edible flowers.
The sashimi were all vibrant and tasted really fresh! My favorite has to be the seared salmon belly that literally melts in your mouth with a distinct smoky charred aftertaste and the raw scallops and shrimp which had a deliciously sweet flesh and lingers no fishy aftertaste.
After visiting The Sushi Bar, I was thoroughly satisfied and impressed by the quality of their seafood at such an affordable price. Definitely give this place a try if you are around the area!
