Citrus By The Pool - You're in for a SPLASH!

Finally a reason to catch a quick dip in the pool! Situated in the same premises as Woodlands Swimming Complex lies a halal certified cafe that specializes in western mains at a affordable prices with no additional GST and service charge.

CATCH OF THE DAY ($13.80)
During my visit, salmon was the fish of the day, and it was served on pile of mash potatoes with mushrooms and seasonal vegetables.

The pan fried salmon was simply delicious. Seasoned simply with salt and pepper, it was cooked till pink in the middle with a soft and flaky texture. Seasonal vegetables were cooked till soft and tasted decent. The only thing I disliked on the plate were the mashed potatoes, as it tasted like instant mash.

EGGS BENEDICT ($12.90)
Decided to ordered the Eggs Benedict from their all-day breakfast menu. It consisted of a piece of sausage and hash-browns which were decent, a side of salad, and of course the Eggs Benedict.

Served on a soft untoasted bun, it lacked the crunch and coarse texture that a usual English Muffin provides. Ironically the sliced ham was heated and fortunately a generous thickness too. The poached egg was perfectly cooked with a firm white and runny yolk, however I felt that the hollandaise sauce lacked intensity and was under-seasoned.

DELUXE WAFFLE WITH DOUBLE ICE-CREAM ($7.50)
After every meal, there is always room for dessert right? I decided to get their waffles and ice-cream with peppermint and coconut as my choice of flavors. The warm waffles were crispy and soft in the middle that compliments well with the rich and creamy ice-cream. I preferred the coconut ice-cream for its more intense and refreshing flavor, while the concentration of the peppermint ice-cream was too overpowering.

MOLTEN LAVA CAKE WITH ICE-CREAM ($8.80)
The molten lava cake was just amazing and definitely the highlight of this dish. It was oozing out a warm, thick bitter-sweet chocolate the moment you slice through it, and the cake itself was soft and moist with a slightly gooey texture that makes it ever so decadent.

Overall I really liked their desserts, and their catch of the day was pretty good too. Aside from the dishes that I've tried, I've heard that their Tom Yam Seafood Pasta is good too! Why not you give it a try and tell me on the comments below!
