Yan Ji Wei Wei Seafood Soup - Soup That Even Malaysians Love
CRAYFISH SEAFOOD SOUP (10.00/12.00)
From the classic Seafood soup starting from $6.00, to the specific Pomfret, Red Grouper or Crayfish seafood soup, all starting from $10.00. I decided to order a bowl of crayfish seafood soup which comes with a piece of tomato, crayfish, fish maws, chunks of minced meat and nuggets of fish in the comforting warm broth.
THE SOUP
The soup's appearance was murky and filled with flavors! One of the key ingredients used in their soup is Sun-dried Hokkaido Scallops, giving the soup that richness. As I slurp down a precious spoonful of soup, I was immediately hooked. The beautiful harmony between sweet and savory is what makes this soup so unique and special. This soothing and comforting soup sets the foundation to a great dish. From slurps to sips of this warm comforting broth, definitely made this trip already wonderfully fulfilled.
CRAYFISH
I went straight for the crayfish! The meat was opaque white and nicely cooked through. Easily separated from the shell as it was perfectly cooked. The natural sweetness of the meat and freshness resembles slightly to prawns, but with a more juicy tender bite!
MINCED MEAT
This chunk of meat is simply divine as I've had never tasted anything like this before! The meat was sweet and well seasoned, with a tender succulent bite. There were bits of mushrooms and maybe fish inside this mixture! This piece of minced pork was definitely one of the best minced meat I've ever had.
FISH MAW
There wasn't much fish maw in the soup but it still provided that spongy chewy texture, giving the dish a nice contrast.Somehow the fish maw gave this dish an overall luxurious look. Made me feel better about spending $12.00 for a bowl of soup.
DORY FISH
This nugget of fish was so moist, sweet and delicate that it literally broke apart in my mouth!Website: https://www.facebook.com/Yan-Ji-Seafood-Soup/
