49 Seats has earned it's reputation for serving up affordable western mains and putting an Asian inspired twist on classic western mains such as their Signature Tom Yam Seafood Pasta and Smoked Duck Cream Pasta.
For an additional $4.90 top up, you can complete your meal with the soup of the day and a drink.

The soup of the day during my visit was Cream Of Mushroom with a slice of garlic toast. The mushroom soup comes with a mild mushroom flavor with a creamy aftertaste. The only thing lacking is the mushroom itself.
The cheese fries was piping hot when it arrived on our table. A generous amount of thick oozing cheese is poured over the fries with a drizzle of mayonnaise and sprinkle of spring onions.

The fries were deliciously firm and soft in the middle and complimented well with the cheese sauce and mayonnaise, like any other cheese fries. However the strong processed cheese flavor of cheddar could be a turn off to some.
Seldom do I see duck paired with pasta, however the dish here is a popular seller at 49 Seats - a simple spaghetti dish in cream sauce, topped with sliced smoke duck.


The spaghetti was nicely cooked till al-dente and the cream sauce has a nice consistency. The smoked duck comes with a nice salty-smoky flavor with a succulent juicy bite. Even though both ingredients tasted good individually, the dish didn't felt like a complete whole dish.
Time for the main event, it's the Tom Yam Seafood Pasta! The dish consists of spaghetti in their special sauce with mussel, prawns and clams!

The spaghetti was nicely cooked till al-dente and drenched in their Tom Yam special sauce.The mussels, prawns and clams were executed nicely, as they were not overcooked.
The main highlight of the dish, was definitely the sauce. The Tom Yam sauce has a thick consistency that tasted sour and spicy with a hint of sweetness.

There's a distinct lemongrass flavor among the herbs and spices used in the sauce.

It's a unique dish.
49 Seats is a nice restaurant with a casual setting, and the food is reasonable priced! Their twist on fusion food was interesting and tasted alright!
