RoyceMary Cafe - Dainty Cafe Opposite Sembawang Shopping Centre

Seldom do we see cafes around the North, but if we look hard enough, there are a few uncovered places around. RoyceMary Cafe is a dainty cafe situated opposite Sembawang Shopping Center, nearby the popular Sembawang White Bee Hoon. Here, one can enjoy a cup of warm coffee paired with their favorite choice of dessert or pastry.

Hazelnut Latte ($5.80)
The hazelnut latte is one drink that I always order whenever I stop by a cafe. The rendition served at RoyceMary's is a delicate blend of espresso, hazelnut and steamed milk with a smooth and creamy body and a refreshing nutty aftertaste.

Journey Of Love ($8.50)
A special name given for their lemon curd tart topped with whipped cream and assorted berries - strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.

I was quite happy to see some raspberries on my tart, as it's uncommon to see it on desserts. Sadly the strawberries were a tad too sour for my liking. The lemon tart itself had a refreshing zesty piquant flavor with a firm and smooth texture, paired delicious well with the crumbly pastry crust.

Thai Tea Lava Cake with Ice-Cream ($12.40)
Ashley is a total fan of Thai Milk Tea, so she couldn't resist ordering the Thai tea lava cake! So we decided to get the lava cake ($8.90) with an additional scoop of matcha ice-cream. ($3.50) The dish is then decorated with strawberries and blueberries with a final drizzle of chocolate syrup.

The lava cake was soft, moist and slightly sticky with a subtle Thai tea taste. The matcha ice-cream has a was dense green tea taste and goes hand in hand with the warm lava cake. I just wished the thai tea flavor was more intense.

As I cut through the lava cake, there wasn't an overflowing amount of sauce, a thick and runny sauce similar to condensed milk in taste and consistency.

Charcoal Black Sesame Macaroon ($3.20)
The exterior wasn't hard or cracked upon the first bite. It was just soft and chewy similar to a chewy cookie and I expected more of a crunch. The black sesame flavor was definitely pronounced in the macaroon.

RoyceMary Cafe is a cozy little space for one to enjoy a cup of coffee and enjoy a conversation with one or two. The owners were really hospitable as well, and I would definitely return here whenever I'm missing my coffee dose.
