PS. CAFE - Homemade Cakes and Truffle Fries At Paragon

PS. Cafe has been a popular destination among locals ever since it opened it's door in Singapore. With over eight outlets countrywide, popular sellers such as their homemade chocolate fudge cakes and truffle fries are what brings the customers back!

MELLOW YELLOW ($9.50)
A combination of blended pineapple, banana, mango and orange. The drink wasn't served chilled and felt like it came out from a carton juice pack.

LEMON & LIME SODA ($9.50)
Similarly, the soda wasn't served chilled and in fact tasted rather bitter as though lemon pith was added.

LYCHEE & LIME SODA ($9.50)
The lychee and lime soda seemed more aesthetically pleasing compared to the lemon lime version and tasted unsurprisingly better, similar to a mock-tail lychee martini.

The drinks served at PS. Cafe was surprisingly disappointing and my advice is to skip the drinks and get their infused water instead.

TRUFFLE SHOESTRING FRIES ($15.00)
20 minutes after ordering, were we finally served our fries tossed with truffle oil, grated parmesan and parsley. The first bite was filled with the mild saltiness and grittiness of the parmesan cheese that lightly melts your mouth while the aroma of truffle oil slowly creeps in.

There wasn't any special condiment pairing with the dish, and the flavors from the cheese and truffle oil started to be repetitive. This dish failed to impressed for its price, but its a great sharing dish among friends.

DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CAKE ($16.00)
One of their most popular cakes on the menu is the classic double chocolate cake. A decadent slice of chocolate cake served in a heated ceramic plate with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream in a pool of rich chocolate sauce.

The cake was rich and extremely moist with a layer of thick chocolate between. The warm sweet chocolate sauce was just as sinful as the cake, evenly coating and soaking into the dessert. To top it all off, a scoop of vanilla ice-cream was the perfect contrast to the warm chocolate cake and sauce, with its smooth and creamy texture.

PS. Cafe has its up and down for me, but the true highlight for dining here would be the casual ambience and their food is perfect for a group of friends.
