Maki San is a casual Japanese restaurant with a unique concept of customizing each Maki rolls and Salads to every customer's individual palate. Ordering can be as easy as filling up the order form or selecting from their few signature creations.

It wouldn't be right to not customize your own Maki, so we decided to took the time and fill up the order form. There is an option to choose between the Little San ($7.90) and Mega San ($9.90), the difference being the amount of filling in your maki.

Our Maki started off with the Traditional Nori as our wrap and Japanese White Rice as the foundation. Avocado was then added for a creamy and light texture, Ebiko for a briny pop, Tempura Enoki Mushroom and Kani Stick for a textural contrast, and lastly Steamed Ebi! For sprinkles, we added Bonito Flakes and Spicy Mayo for the sauce. Since we ordered the MEGA SAN, we decided on the classic Salmon Sashimi as our special topping!

Some flavors stood out more than the others and the different textures from all the combination were interesting! The Japanese White rice was nicely seasoned with a nice bite from the nori. The Crab Stick was surprisingly the pronounced flavor in the Maki together with the Spicy Mayo-Ebiko mix. Pity that the subtle taste of Salmon Sashimi and Steamed Ebi were out shined.
