MELT CAFÉ - One Of The Best International Buffet In Singapore

Melt-The World Cafe is located in Mandarin Oriental hotel, and is undoubtedly one of the most popular International buffet restaurant in Singapore. Well known for their high quality spread and sublime service, I decided to visit them for their dinner buffet.

Instinctively my body guided me to the Japanese Section, where an assortment of Sashimi and Maki are beautifully presented on a black stone plate. The freshness of the sashimi was definitely commendable, but not so for the sushi rice.

Just beside the Japanese section is the Cold meats section where common cured meat such as pastrami, ham and pepperoni can be found here. My favorite would have to be the succulent and fatty Smoked Duck Breast.

Fill your taste-buds with an explosion of spices and flavors at the Indian Cuisine Section. Grab a scoop of Jeera rice, some garlic butter nann and soak them in the fusion of curries such as Baingan masala, Aloo mutter, and Chicken masala. Robust curries and flavors with delicious fork-tender meats.

It was one of the best slice of meat that I've had in a long while. Slow Roasted Australian Aged Prime Rib Beef. Succulent, juice flowing out from each bite, and cooked perfectly rare. If you love beef, you got to give it a try.

A scrumptious spread at the fresh seafood station that is faithfully topped up whenever low on quantity. Here, one can fully indulge in as much fresh lobsters, crab claws, snow crabs, scallops, mussels and prawns as they desire without the fear of snatching nor waiting for them. My personal favorite station after the Australian Beef.

After stuffing myself with the seafood, it is time to queue up for some grilled meat at the Outdoor Barbecue Station. Unless you want to cut the queue to grab yourself some stale satays and lamb chops in the front, you might want to consider waiting for some piping hot and "fresh" food to order. With only one staff in charge of the station, waiting is a must and sometimes food is rushed, resulting in raw black pepper lobster. Definitely not the best station here.

Never have I ever seen so many cheese in one area! At the Cheese Section, all kinds of cheese can be seen, ranging from soft to hard, mild to strong and creamy to gooey. There were even an assortment of dried fruits and crackers to accompany the cheeses. A unique and impressive spread.

No matter how full your stomach is, there is always room for dessert. Stuff yourself with a variety of Asian and Western desserts such as Nonya Kuehs, cakes, ice-creams and a selection of fresh fruits to end your buffet experience.
