Miam Miam - When French Techniques Meets Japanese Ingredients

Miam Miam is a French casual cafe-restaurant that specializes in French cuisine with a twist, by implementing the use of traditional Japanese preparation and cooking arts into their dishes! One can expect unique fusion dishes such as Matcha Soufflé, Yuzu Pancake and their specialty Miam Miam spaghetti!

SOUFFLE DE NUAGE ($16.80)
This unique dish combines a souffle and home-style fresh tomato sauteed rice into one. The light and airy foams tasted strongly of egg whites, while the baked exterior provides a mellow cheesy flavor. Beneath the clouds of egg and cheese lies a serving of tomato sauteed rice in a light cream sauce with mushrooms.

The home-style fresh tomato sauteed rice were delicious on its own but the souffle added an odd foamy texture to the rice. Half-way through the dish, one may fell jelak from the amount of souffle.

MIAM MIAM SPAGHETTI ($16.80)
One of their most popular seller is their Miam Miam Spaghetti, which is spaghetti sauteed with frankfurters, tomatoes, mushrooms, baby spinach and bacon, tossed in french butter, secret broth and shoyu. Finished off with an onsen egg.

The pasta was cooked al-dente and the egg was perfectly cooked with a runny center. Even though I couldn't distinguish their special sauce, this dish resembles heavily to an Italian aglio olio with an intense garlic flavor and aroma. The accompaniments did not seem to compliment the pasta and felt random at times.

FAMOUS FRENCH TOAST ($10.80)
Another one of their popular food items with a 15 minutes waiting time is their French Toast. The French toast comes with a scoop of whipped cream and a dash of icing sugar. The french toast were thick and buttery that resembles hotcakes. Maple syrup is provided for that added sweetness.

Miam Miam is a casual and comfortable cafe to visit for a cup of coffee or enjoy a dessert with a friend or two, but the price could be more reasonable in my opinion.
